Most of these works pick up on earlier themes in some aspect - although it may be hard to identify in some. Each evolves new elements of interaction of space and colour; the orientation of the focal point of leverage, a point which does not lie on the picture plane but orchestrates aesthetic order. It reflects the mental framework required to navigate modernism. Romanticized notions favoured by non-visual (ie : litterary/litteral) interpretations of art are of no relevance.

The power to civilize emotions lies in spatial relationships. This ancient idea caught fire in 19th century France, Continental Europe and Russia.
